Conciliation is a process by which an impartial Conciliator  attempts to clarify issues and passes proposals and recommendations between the parties in order that a settlement can be reached. Conciliation is very similar to Mediation but the Conciliator takes a much more pro-active approach to bring the parties closer together. This is useful in work place disputes when Company Policies need to be taken into consideration.

The process is voluntary, private and confidential and normally conducted on the telephone. Conciliation may benefit parties where communications have broken down due to negotiation styles. 
When agreement is reached a settlement agreement is drawn up and signed by the parties. This is then enforceable like any other contract would be.
